I greatly enjoyed 'A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering
Genius' by Dave Eggers. I'm reading 'Neuromancer' by William
Gibson at the moment, it is quite cool.

Jitterbug Perfume by Tom Robbins is great fun. It's a big
silly romp across history without the annoying bits you
usually get with that sort of thing. I don't care much for
his other books but this one is a blast. It's about perfume
and Vikings and India and immortality and waitresses and New
Orleans. And stuff.

well a chilean writer that used to live in mexico, i know he
is dead, but he died last year, he also was a poet, if u
want to try one last dead soul, maybe roberto bolaños and
his book " putas asesinas" would be a pretty good option
argentinian writers use to be really good in narrative, if
u want to read some poetry, i can help u with some alive
souls

Charles Bukowski has been dead for ten years but he is quite
contemporary. Read "Erections, Ejaculations, Exhibitions,
and General Tales of Ordinary Madness". I would recommend
"Junky" by old Bill Burroughs (he's been dead for a good
while too). I've heard good things about "Perfume" by Suskid
too.
