Jitterbug Perfume by Tom Robbins is great fun. It's a big silly romp across history without the annoying bits you usually get with that sort of thing. I don't care much for his other books but this one is a blast. It's about perfume and Vikings and India and immortality and waitresses and New Orleans. And stuff. |

well a chilean writer that used to live in mexico, i know he is dead, but he died last year, he also was a poet, if u want to try one last dead soul, maybe roberto bolaños and his book " putas asesinas" would be a pretty good option argentinian writers use to be really good in narrative, if u want to read some poetry, i can help u with some alive souls |

Charles Bukowski has been dead for ten years but he is quite contemporary. Read "Erections, Ejaculations, Exhibitions, and General Tales of Ordinary Madness". I would recommend "Junky" by old Bill Burroughs (he's been dead for a good while too). I've heard good things about "Perfume" by Suskid too. |
