Hello, how are you gentlemen?
We bring up the same artists (even the same albums) quite
frequently, so I started this thread hoping to spur people
into suggesting electronic musicians/works which they like
quite a bit which however aren't mentioned around here
often.

Of course this board has been around for a while and lots of
things have been mentioned at some point (for instance I was
gonna start a Beaumont Hannant topic days ago and noticed
there were already a few), but well, please try anyway.

[this thread isn't actually in the vein of the
underrated/overrated threads--sorry if it seems like a
rehash]

I'm a classical musician and don't have too many electronic
CDs, so I don't really have great suggestions.
this 4 disc set is an ambient compilation I have always liked
quite a bit, I highly recommend it to fans of that genre.

I'm a little surprised Machine Drum goes unmentioned on
here. It may be because he isn't on the Warp label.

Anyhow, if you like a blend of IDM and hip hop, check this
out.

I recommend Resolution - Seattle Brotherhood (1988)

Its a hardcore punk SxE band. Really nice sounding and if
anyone is interested in hearing something away from the
normal that we all listen to then please contact me on SLSK
and i will share :)

ELO are my suggestion,

I would have suggested Carl Orff but then I remembered not
electric.

Okay:
Black Market - Sabres High EP. This is going to be
released on vinyl later this year. For all of you who like
drill/drum and bass. He's influenced by Squarepusher, Jazz,
VS etc.

The End - Within Dividia - An amazing band from north of
Toronto think of them as a mix between Converge and Slayer

Willie Nelson - Crazy (Demo Sessions) - For those who like
traditional country, this can't be beat. Just Willie and
his guitar on most of the tracks. Recorded in 1960 before
he was a star.

Burger/Ink - Las Vegas - I know it's old but fuck is it
good.

datachi - mmale and ffemale - hardcore meets IDM I guess.
Interesting, really interesting.

Ghostface - Pretty Toney LP - I've got a soft spot for
Ghost.

Ekkehard Ehlers - Plays - The best ambient release in 5
years.

I recommened Seelenluft- Out of the Woods, because it's
smooth as buttersilk. And the hot smoking soundtrack to
Gunvalkyrie, which I can't really find anywhere.

Hardcore metal/punk riffs and good vocals. On the album they
cover two classics "purple haze" which turned out great! and
"ace of spades" I believe it is 10 or so tracks and the
album has been out of print according to my knowledge.

hey I didn't mean to be an ass about it, it's just that I
usually make really shitty threads, and was paranoid it'd
lose spirit after like 2 posts (mine). It's interesting to
see what people with some similar tastes also like which is
in fact dissimilar, so by all means please write whatever!

IDM + hip hop, yes. Like Beans? Not even close...

But yeah, definitely check out the mp3s once you get the
chance. He's signed on m3rck. Check out the Artists
section there. There should be some of his Discogs that also
have some mp3 samples.

As a debateable question .... what did you think of beans?
He really turned me off to the whole hiphop IDM combo and
kind of ruined it for me. Thats just me though

Meh. Beans has a bit of an ego methinks.

Once again though, there's really no relation between
Machine Drum and Beans, let alone they're on completely
different labels. Machine Drum's music is essentially
glitchy IDM based on hip hop-style rhythms, and lyrics are
absent (but he does use extensive tweakage of vocal
samples.)

You should check out some of MD's stuff! His track
Hello My Future from his first LP Now You Know uses
samples from the href="http://www.xsunderground.com/thechilde/">}-{ello my
future girlfriend website (hence the title).

Go and listen yo!

thethirdball-----> I thought I was the only one here who
liked mmale and ffemale. About "the end" I would describe
them more as a mix between converge and cryptopsy.

I would recommend Techno Animal...especially "brotherhood of
the bomb". The most non-pussy hip-hop shit I've listened to.

whoa sweet, an old bump! I still love that set in the
initial discogs link..

My pick for today is another old favorite, alien mutation.
They're sorta ambient/trance, old school, not dance music
but meant for pleasant listening (HA! as if these sets are
disjoint). Not many releases but located without much
difficulty on soulseek.

I'm not saying it's the best thing ever, but it's pretty
cool, rather refreshing/creative, pretty detailed.. nice
stuff.

The problem with Porn Sword Tobacco is that i enjoyed "wife
beater" the most and that is the first track. It makes it
appear as if the album declines.

I would like to hear more by this artist
