A week ago today, I gave up caffeine, in a hope to better my health ... this means no coffee, of course, but also no cocoa, no chocolate bars, no coca-cola or other soft drinks... I've been suffering from tension headaches (as I think they're called), and have been getting really tired also. This, I've read is customary, and should pass pretty soon. But, even with these, I am feeling already healthier and stronger, and I can definately feel the benefits, and I don't think I will incorporate caffeine into my lifestyle at all again.
"One more dependance licked!"

Regular caffeine consumption reduces sensitivity to caffeine. When caffeine intake is reduced, the body becomes oversensitive to adenosine. In response to this oversensitiveness, blood pressure drops dramatically, causing an excess of blood in the head (though not necessarily on the brain), leading to a headache.
This headache, well known among coffee drinkers, usually lasts from one to five days, and can be alleviated with analgesics such as aspirin. It is also alleviated with caffeine intake.
