M-audio Ozone.

midi-controller + external soundcard.

I think "oxygen" also is one of these.

The new E-MU 1820 seems to be pretty good and not to

I snagged an old 486 once and ported a 2.2 kernel patch to
2.4 (this was 2 years ago) to use the PC speaker as a PCM
device. I woke up to polynomial C for a week on high
crackle..††††
