The End's incredible bass driven sound system ( one of the
best in London) provides the perfect venue for a night of
GRIME and BRAINDANCE on Friday April 23rd, hosted be Rephlex
and Eat Your Own Ears.

GRIME ROOM featuring:

THE BUG (aka Kevin Martin of Techno Animal, Ice and God
infamy) and his array of dancehall inflected vocalists have
just spawned an album of audio mutants. With the recent
release of ‘Pressure’ on the Rephlex label, THE BUG has
cooked up a downtempo, overdriven yardcore monster, self
described as ‘warped dancehall, ragga meets heavy
electronic dub’. Tonight sees him play a live set
alongside MC's Ras B, Warrior Queen and Mexican

DJ PLASTIC MAN has the industrial swagger of a Transformer.
his set sees him unconsciously join the dots between
Kraftwerk, Front 242, techstep drum'n'bass and the frisky
syncopations of swing uk 2step, alongside MC's Nika D, JSD &
Goldfinger.

DJ MARKONE has been causing a stir on the scene since his
first release on his label Contagious over two years ago.
Nominated for BEST GRIME PRODUCER at the 2003 Sidewinder
awards, tonight sees him play a dance floor friendly set of
dark breakbeats, dub and 2step that has had every one in

I've heard only one track by Plastic Man (who's meant to
have a release coming out on Rephlex) and I haven't been too
impressed so far. But hopefully it'll grow on me, like The
Bug. I thought he was poo at first then the more I listened
to it, the more soulful and rinsing it sounded.

Did anyone go?

I'd like to read a review, since I couldn't make it.

Also, the collapse of the wave function 7" is great, anyone
who doens't like it isn't playing it loud enough.
