And? It's not the hardest thing in the world and not the
most useful.

On your first attempt but that's about it. OH WOW!

An associate of mine who works in computing security
bluejacked 3 devices (just with a test message) just in one
carriage of a train. It's not really any more than a high
tech equivalent of writing a "scary" message on a post it
not and putting it in their coat pocket/bag without them
noticing.

So, what exactly did you send?

A scary message....Im however amazed how easy it is to find
a bluetooth device in a crowded place

There's just no point to it though. It's just stupid.

offline Anus_Presley on 2004-04-18 14:33 [#01148753]

and it's... not fun.

And you might inadvertantly do it to a psycho who saw you
using your phone a moment earlier (chavs love their
high-tech phones...)

CHAVS WILL DO ANYTHING FOR A FIGHT. THEY MAY EVEN KILL YOU
FOR IT!

from "how to bluejack" on www.bluejackq.com..

"If you can, try to casually look around you and see if
you spot anybody with a bluetooth enabled phone/device
nearby looking truly puzzled."

sounds like such fun! "oh man I had the BEST time today.. we
like bluejacked at McDonalds and there was this guy looking
truely puzzled MAN I almost pissed my pants!!!"

this is so fucking stupid

if people are stupid enough to leave their bluetooth on in
the first place (because it EATS battery power like nothing
else on earth) and they're stupid enough to have their phone
discoverable to non-paired devices, they deserve everything
they get

i dunno why the hell it's called blueJACKING

it's not as if you're stealing info from their phones or
anything

all you're doing is spamming their phone

it should be bluespam

You can steal info from their phone but having a few of
their contacts is pointless.
