Kurt Russell Appreciation Thread

Kurt Russell is G.R.E.A.T! He has done such classic films,
even if some of them aren't the best, retrospectively, they
still mean a lot! From playing Elvis in the John Carpenter
Biopic -- well, at least it got them teamed up! and it's not
actually so bad @:) -- to other Carpenter collaborations;
The Thing, Escape From New York (and its ... sequel), Big
Trouble in Little China, to classic late 80s fare, Tequila
Sunrise, Overboard, and Tango & Cash! And Breakdown was
pretty nifty, too! :D

So, let's give it up for Kurt Russell!

"I don't know about you, but I have an aversion to getting
F.U.B.A.R."

I have seen few of his films... I am even yet to see "Escape
from New York"... I need to watch that one. My parents even
have it on VHS.

I like to pretend that Kurt Russell's character in The Thing
got rescued and became The Dude in The Big Lebowski.

Actually, I have the Two-Disc Special Edition DVD of "Big
Trouble In Little China", and am in fact half-way through
watching it in bed right now! :D I also have The Thing, both
of them feature audio commentaries with Kurt and Johnny C :)
Grrrrrrreat!

Wow. I read the name of this thread and was thinking "Bah,
Kurt Russel doesn't deserve appreciation...." but now, after
reading said films, I've become a believer. Big Trouble in
Little China, Captain Ron, The Thing. Did you know he was
the voice of Elvis in Forrest Gump?

Thank you, Kurt Russel Appreciation Thread, for making me
realize just how much I appreciate Kurt Russel.

Kurt Russell wins on all fronts if only for his role of
Snake Plissken.

You guys are all forgetting about Tango and Cash! When they
get that huge death machine truck late in the film, it's
pretty riveting.

Big Trouble in Little China was a great movie. The guys who

I like how he acted alongside Elvis in, "It Happened At The
World's Fair", to acting AS Elvis only 16 years later --
that's what I call Method Acting!!

"The thing" is ridiculous! They couldn't even get a real
norwegian to say the norwegian stuff! Sounds like they got a
russian or something!

It's ridiculous because they didn't have a real Norwegian?
In the Commentary, they LAUGH about that! Whaddaya think
about THAT, you fjord-living, Grieg-listening muthafucka!
