wow, that's a tough question... i don't think i could have a top 3 because there's so many different factors to consider, but some of my favorites are Ogre (skinny puppy/ohgr), Mike Patton (mr bungle/fantomas), Buzz Osborne (melvins), Kevin Sharp (brutal truth), Jennifer Charles (elysian fields/lovage), Lou Barlow (sebadoh), and Shannon Selberg (cows).

Mainly because I hear really good vocals but have no idea who's singing them.

Those are the two first that come to mind. It's a bit harder to find the third one though...
I have to agree on Ophecks, vocal makes it or brakes it for me also.

Maynard James Keenan Daniel Bejar of Destroyer (often compared to Bowie) Chris Cornel
Those are just off the top of my head :S I like pretty much anyone that does lots of harmonies or sings high. The Beatles, Sloan, Flashing Lights, etc.
and I love when Beck does his falsetto.

you think you're clever don't you?!! :P
seriously though, i was thinking that there should be a spin-off poll about people's favourite mcs... cause i don't really care to intermingle the mcing with other forms of lyrical performance... (that statement seems really finnicky because i'm trying not to call tricky "rock")
