hyper hotel komatsu - super ok - a collaboration between me and my friend
noah wilson. this track was fully composed in max/msp.
myself and noah have intentions on releasing an entire album
of our collaborations that will take place over the next
year

stephanie lees - lime - i track from a fellow classmate stephanie
lees, amazing vocalist. the music is me on piano and briony
(forgot last name) on cello

stephanie lees, james alexander & briony - improvisation - from the same session as lime we did an
improvisation, very ambient and simple, yet beautiful...

let me know what you guys think if you take the time to
listen, cheers!

_james.

Okay, that Noah Wilson collab track is probably the warmest
thing I've ever heard. Definitely keeping that.

Listened to just the first so far--very relaxed, pleasant
listening--thanks. Personally I would like if it had some
more layers/detail/variation, but of course that changes the
feel.

super ok is really awesome! it reminds me of old school
industrial stuff (sp or tg) but very mellowed out. it's
great. is the title in homage to the Boredoms?

thanks very much for the feedback guys
super ok isnt a homage to the boredoms tho... is that title
one of theirs? super ok is just the working title, me and
noah name our demos after engrish things, like "live and go
because it becomes happy" and "status clitical" so its just
a name used to referance at the moment, although we do know
that the lp will be called "hyper hotel komatsu" a name for
the act has not yet been decided

:)

stephanie lees - lime has a enormous lamb influence in it.
that girl has similarities in voice like Louise Rhodes from
lamb.
liking it... :))

well, the boredoms have like ten albums with Super
(something) in the title, including the album Super AE:

1. Super You 7:37
2. Super Are 8:30
3. Super Going 12:24
4. Super Coming 12:17
5. Super Are You 8:47
6. Super Shine 12:45
7. Super Good 6:06

but no Super OK, as far as i know. :)

yeah james kid you got skills in making music. super ok is
nice, something about it though doesn't sit right with me.
I don't know what it is...I suppose it still feels a little
underdeveloped to me...I think I would have preferred it
with some clean metalic noises in the mix...but it's hard to
convey exactly what I mean.

i see what you mean ecnadniarb, im surprised on the positive
response to super ok myself, as it doesnt sit right with me
either, but more to do with the length. there is some more
random bass squelch that we plan to add, and edit it to
about 5 minutes, and then its likely we'll call it finished

I will be very interested to hear the final outcome because
I remember when you tweaked a track once before and it went
from being good to fucking brilliant :D

hey good stuff. the two vocal tracks were nice. i think
she has a good voice and i bet if it matures a bit more it
could be great.

the hyper Hotel komatsu is good solid ambience. i'm not a
big ambient fan but this was nice to hear. reminds me
vaguely of seefeel mixed with some Oval.

yeh good stuff mang
