I wonder what you out here think about this?

for example:
in the song Magnum 38 - Angry Funk Man (Shitkatapult Label),
you can hear samples of Under Boac and I am sure this sound
isn't created by Magnum 38 but sampled of Under Boac
itself.

(is there someone who has got this release original, because
it could be it is mentioned in the credits)

ofcourse same sounds are used more often nowadays, but in
this song/sample I just hear Autechre, to me it is their
sound.

there are many more examples of things like this which I
can't remember right now...

tell me your thoughts

maybe I didn't formulate the question in the right way?

"do you think that it is good or bad to use samples from
other artists?"

I think it's dependent on how the sample is used. If it's
just lazy sampling then it's bad. If it's used in an
inventive way then I'm all for it.

I mostly avoid using samples coming from electronic music
records.

it just feels kind of incestuous. it kind of takes a bit of
the challenge out, even feels like cheating, in a way.

this is purely how I feel about doing this myself - I'm not
saying music made this way is a "cheat" or something.

i'm with giginger on this one cos as he said, if it's lame
ass sampling then it's definetly not worth it.
sometimes ppl forget what's the sampling process all
about...not just taking the phrase or loop and use it in
some sterile way,but to recycle it in a new way that's
totaly different from the origin.
