Wasn't this film supposed to be released in february? I
think that's what they said, when the 1st came?

How do you know that a not-released movie is crap?

tarantino is a great director. i think kill bill vol1 is
great, and also all his previous films. it's not 'only
because it's a tarantino movie'. what the hell does that
mean? if they movie was bad, would i still call it great
because tarantino made it? why the fuck would me and the
other people who liked killbill say that?

i liked pulp fiction, reservoir dogs and jackie brown...they
were all alright, but nothing too exceptional. i think he's
way overhyped. kill bill sucked imo...but since it's
tarantino people loved it, naturally.

he just always picks they right actors and that's it. well,
he's not bad as director, but not all that great either.

ok ill be honest

i hated the film. it was unoriginal piece of shit movie. but
as you know, i admire the director. so i lied to everybody
that it was great. i don't know the reason for why i did
this, but you superior intelligent beings that don't like
killbill/tarantino sure would know. I am sheep, i go with
the flow. i have no mind of my own.

it was good to let this out. it was eating me alive. Thanks

i saw quite some lee films as a kid and i couldn't find much
resemblance...
it is a samurai film (with probably all the key elements),
but it doesn't work with hollywood people...maybe if he had
used the japanese actors it would be a bit better :)

couldn't find much resemblance?

umas costume (yellow & black; game of death (also known as
tower of death, but tower of death is used more for game of
death II). Bruce Lee died while filming Game of Death, and
therefore, most of the film is done using a body-double. The
fight between Bruce Lee and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is real,
though)
the masks of all those 88 people (bruce lee wore a mask like
that when playing "Cato" in "The Green Hornet," an old
tv-show)
There is some Jeet Kune-do in the film (Bruce developed this
martial art)

that's all I can remember right now, but I know I several
times thought: "ah! that's from [a bruce lee flick]!"

if you can find it, watch Lady Snowblood 'Blizzard from the
Netherworld'.

Japanese movie from the (?) 60s. There you have it: a woman
(sword master), with a deadly sword. A list of people's
names she wants to kill for revenge. A balcony fighting
scene, lots of blood!!!!!

Tarantino is a brilliant thief, very entertaining movies to
some point.

...what was really annoying for me is the torturing scene in
'Reservoir Dogs'.

to show one guy being tortured (his ear being chopped off)
while playing disco music?!

Imagine this in 'the passion of Christ'

re bruce lee in kill bill: the whole setting of the final
scrap [snow, outside the japanese building] with lucy liu's
character was lifted from the final scene from fist of fury.

there're a load of references i didn't pick up on because
they link to the more obscure japanese slasher flicks too.

there's a pdf of production notes to be downloaded from the
site:

http://www.kill-bill.com/vol1/Kill-Bill-Production-Notes.pd
f

and for the record, i loved kill bill the first time, but on
the second watch i realised how dodgy most of the script
is... it's not even good in a "charming parody of bad kung
fu dialogue" way...

Well they're being cheeky with that. There's the separate
releases and then, rumour has it, there'll be the obligatory
boxset BUT it will have completely different extras to the
single releases.

I hope that is a lie.

I liked the movie 'cause it was good.

I'm excited for the second one.

I think taratino makes good movies. Do I like just because
he made it? No, if it was crappy I would say I liked his
other movies but kill bill was weak. But I like it, so I can
say, I'm a big fan of his and kill bill 2 should be cool.

Everyone always likes something another hates, all shit is
relative that's why there's no point in arguing over
music/movies/art

other films i'm not too keen on. If the second one is as
good as or better than the first it will definately be my
favourite work of his and the only that I would buy on DVD.

"it's even better if you've seen all the originals! lots
of
bruce lee tribute!
"

Actually, after seeing those originals it starts sucking
even more.

I don't know if you noticed it but, since Kill Bill's major
focus is revenge in a martial arts/action setting, you're
bound to compare it to the martial arts/action revengeflicks
it's paying tribute to.
To have a compelling revengeflick you need somebody with a
natural disposition befitting this sort of role so you're
actually feeling their contained rage just by looking at
them. People like Bruce Lee, Jet Li or Mel Gibson even.
So tell me how in the hell you think Uma Thurman's
unconvincing rage, her gangling posture and her inability to
fight at all is gonna compare with the likes of the
tremendously powerful, athletic, energetic and charismatic
appearance of Bruce Lee? Right. She doesn't.

So next he's paying tribute by copying the cinematics as
seen in those movies.
Right.
As seen in those movies.
I've seen it before so, having established that the action
is far far worse, how is using those tried and tested
cinematics gonna make up for the utterly boring fights?
Right. They don't.
Plus he couldn't get wild with the gore because of
studiowankers so no consolidation on that part either.

On a little side-note:
People are all too eager to jump on the bandwagon and bash
Matrix reloaded for it's boring fights,shitty story,crappy
dialogue and acting, but yet they manage to rave about Kill
Bill, while it's obviously even more tedious and crappy on
all of those areas.
I've seen better girlfights at the schoolyard.

I disliked part 2.

I quite liked part 1 but the story just about completely
falls apart in this one.

most of the dialogue is boring.

and some of it is just laughable - when the Bride gives Bill
that deathgrip-thingy.. ridiculous.

only thing I thought was really good was the Driver/Bride
fight.

i disliked both parts. i thought most of it was a failure

im confused here, to me it sounds like you are a big fan,
considering you like three of his four (now five) films

im other words, kill bill 1 + 2, albeit different movies,
are what expected from qt: cinema excellence. i like good
films, not overhyped actors/directors.
