weirdness..... very odd approach to the genre, and just in the western musical construct in general. very odd. reminds me almost of a mix of like dimitri from paris and the rza at times. hm nice man, very nice. |

I found it on a norwegian demo-contest page.. there are lots of cool artists there, and most of them go by unnoticed by the people doing the contest (they pick mostly rock...). |

yeah.. I may have given that impression. I just occasionally find the artists on that page so good that I want to share. (also I help them in a way, 'cause the more people who listen to them, they'll be more noticed by the general public and the jury.) |

Kong Kontrabass: Sort of Portishead played by a group of people out of time and with worse production values. Mamma er Snill: The weakest track, a sort of bleepy electronic thing with funk stylings. The sort of thing that would be a B-side to the "Vibert's Nuggets" compilations. Le Pornographe: A bit to fast for this sort of music. Almost as if he is using sliced loops for the percussion that are designed to be played at a lower speed or a DJ is playing the track at +7% pitch. Still, nice and bouncy and it has a nice energy to it. Sorry if my comments sound negative, but I really like trip hop and these are good tracks that just have some flaws that stop them being excellent. Is this guy just an amateur? If so it's pretty good work. |

yes I am. you'd be amazed at how much stuff which, if the people who made it got a tad more money and backing, could be really great! (at least it's not like I'm watching and voting for Idol!!!) |
