Video game speed runs

Here's a good source for some NES game maimings. Great movies
here! They're all torrent files. Anytime someone beats all
the Contras without getting hit, he's due for some major
props and some psychological help. It's also the first time
I'd ever seen Journey to Silius. This page is updated a
couple of times a week.

It's also the first time I've seen someone beat Rygar. That
game gave me fits back in the day.

And here's a guy pulverizing Metal Gear Solid- The Twin Snakes, getting the Big Boss rating
in an hour.

And there's tons of movies over at Zophar.net.

I love speed runs and general video game show-off-a-thons. I
watched a 2.5 hour 1.5 gig movie of someone beating Splinter
Cell without getting being seen and without killing anyone
the other day. That was the ultimate. I learned a lot about
life.

games, like old games that goes fast.
Is there e.g. a sonic speedrun?
that'd be fun to watch.

Are these sort of the same idea as the 11-minute Super Mario
3 clip?

the 11-minute is fake...
but no I'm not sure about these.
Perhaps they are, perhaps they're not.
I enjoy real stuff more, but the smb3-video
was great!

Yeah, they're real. They were recorded on NES emulators and
you can actually download the emulation video files straight
from the site, and open them up if you have the ROM and the
emulator... they record the button input while you're
playing.

I think it would be hard to fake those, they're not videos
you can cut and paste. But who knows, maybe there's a way.

Regardless, these videos are tons of fun!

To clarify- there's two ways to watch these speed runs. The
video files are .avis and you get them via torrent. The
emulator video files are also there, but they're a pain in
the butt to run because you HAVE to have the ROM and the
specific emulator. I just got the videos.

You just know that anyone who has a graphic of Mega Man's
helmet on a statement of belief page is too cool for school.
