i don't like violent movies too much, but i love this one i don't like russell crowe much either, but this is one of his parts he was great in...the music is excellent as well, especially that closing song. i remember liking it a lot 10 years ago, and i still like it today.

I loved it, must have been about 8 years since I watched it tho........ I used to be into alot of violent films when I was in my early teens lol. I think the general grittiness of the film is what makes it such a classic for me, & Russel Crowe is fantastic in this which is refreshing....... yeah, great film.

This is a great film. Probably my favorite Russle Crowe performance ever. It really shows his range. Especially when you compare it to his performance in The Insider or something. the guy is a fucking chameleon.
on a side note, the guy who played 'Davie' was excellent too. but i heard he commited suicide by jumping in front of a train or some shit. too bad.

the soundtrack to romper stomper would be cool if the songs werent about stomping monkies or whatever. i really like the song at the end of the film that kicks in for the beginning of the credits. not to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it, but the camera angle used is also kinda funny.

when you say romper stomper, i think of this old kids show called Romper Room... i think it might be canadian... does anyone else remember this? the female host would look through a hand mirror frame at the end and claim that she saw "Billy, and Tina, and Stephen, and..." (and basically she'd list of like 20 random anglosaxon names a child might have who was watching the show at the time...)

Managed to pick this up for a fiver in Tescos of all places. Very good film and I agree with what someone said the other day about it being better than American History X. Perhaps I'm going soft in my old age, but this was the first film in years (probably not since I first saw Scum) that made me feel uncomfortable.
Strikes a good balance portraying the skinheads and whilst shockingly violent in places, you never feel it's simply gratuitous.
