..comin' end of may.

for those not on pjharvey.net's mailinglist:

"PJ Harvey's seventh album 'Uh Hu Her' – the
follow up to 2001's Mercury Prize-winning 'Stories From The
City, Stories From The Sea' – will be released by Island
Records on the 31st May 2004.
The album will be preceded by single 'The Letter', out 17th
May.
After a summer of live dates - including appearances at the
V Festival, the Eden Project and the first rock concert at
Tate Modern – Harvey finished work on the new record in
the autumn of 2003. The album was written, performed,
recorded,
mixed & produced by Harvey, who chose Head to assist in
additional recording and mixing and Rob Ellis, long time
collaborator, to play drums and percussion on the album.
Multi-instrumentalist, Harvey, played everything else.

The full tracklisting is as follows:

1. The Life and Death of Mr Badmouth
2. Shame
3. Who The Fuck?
4. The Pocket Knife
5. The Letter
6. The Slow Drug
7. No Child of Mine
8. Cat on the Wall
9. You Come Through
10. It's You
11. The End
12. The Desperate Kingdom of Love
13. The Darker Days of Me & Him"

god, I hope it's a true return to form and is better than
"Stories.."..

Joseph walked on and on
The sunset went down and down
Coldness cooled their desire
And Dawn said, 'Let's build a fire'
The sun dressed the trees in green
And Joe said, 'I feel like a King'
And Dawn's neck and her feet were bare
Sweetness in her golden hair
Said, 'Im not scared'
Turned to her and smiled
Secrets in his eyes
Sweetness of desire

Is this desire
Enough, enough
To lift us higher
To lift above?

Hour-long, by hour, may we two stand
When we're dead, between these lands
The sun set behind his eyes
And Joe said, 'Is this desire?'

Is this desire
Enough, enough
To lift us higher
To lift above?

Is this desire
Enough, enough
Enough inside
Is this desire?

This new album will be mine.

"is this desire" is Harvey's album that sold the least
copies - I still think it's her best.

I only have "is this desire" and "stories from the city..."
so my opinion is therefore worthless. However, i concur.

i HATE that song...

but I love P J Harvey, hope this new one is better than her
last.

I agree with Is this Desire being her best one, though i've
recently got 'to bring you my love' and 'rid of me', both
excelent

only found one that isn't queued up to hell and back.
downloading now, and pretty fast.

I'll keep it shared anyway though - username: qrter!

strangely enough the first track stops at 1:29 and is
clearly not finished (but does sound excellent, btw!).

the 2nd is over 5 minutes, so this rip seems to be fuxx0red.

it's just a teaser. all tracks will be cut short.

still nice to give you an idea what it's going to sound like
full.

Stories was a great album, what are you talking about? :-p
I'd have to agree that Is This Desire is a (little) bit
better. But stories is a great one all the same. What don't
you like about it? To my ears it's not that different from
other albums...

Stories only has a few great tracks whereas all her other
albums are filled with brilliance. I'm hoping her new one
isn't so poppy and please no more collaborations with Thom
York!

hehe. Oh well. I really like all of the tracks on it. I'd
have a hard time thinking of one track I liked less than the
others. 'this is love' is probably my least favorite... but
then i still like that one alot. It's such a fun song :-)
The album also flows incredibly well. It sounds much more
balanced than any of her other albums. Maybe it's just me
:-p

I love Stories, too -- I think it flows so well. I can
never pick a favorite PJ record, though :)

I have a bad feeling in my gut about this new record though
-- for some reason I expect disappointment. But don't mind
me, I expect disappointment from every release that comes
out from my favorite artists. And she's definitely my
favorite.

to me Stories sounded a bit the 'samey', and these new
tracks all have a different feel.

also a nice low-key return to electronica here and there.

haven't seen any pictures of the cover yet.

should try and check the other albums : )

pantalaimon > it's not the title of the album, but maybe
it's related - here are two pics that were on the official
site... who knows.

i think they are single covers, definately get "is this
desire", you'd probably like that one best.

qrter: yeah, i thought it was a bit samey too, only a few
good tracks on that one. Seemed a bit overproduced too.

the 2nd one is on the innersleeve of that single.
