heres a recent track i put together. i recorded the strings in stockholm during a recent visit. by two lovely female composers who still know how to play their fiddles (students of sven-david sandstrom). but its kind of ambient or something. anyway...

This thread kinda dieded (using Rugrat's speak) so I'm gonna give it some life.
I don't know what to say about your track. It comes across as very detailed and very complex. I'm not a serious mood/ambient head like I use to be so struggle with ambient/mood pieces during the day and generally. Nevertheless this track sounds good. This sort of 'sound' would really be suited to film. I think I need to listen to this piece later at night to really appreciate it.
Generally I would say ambient type tracks tend to die pretty quickly on this board as most people tend to be more taken with more melodic and drum based music. And that is not a criticism of anyone as I am just being purely matter of fact :-).

i would classify about .000007% of the stuff i do as ambient. but sometimes it just happens. maybe that percentage will go up. beats and programming and "electronic" music for me is tired. i mean, im tired of doing it. so i like to explore. but im sure i will come back to it. i dont know. but the track is sorta associated with flying over sweden/northern europe watching the long patches of ice looking all fractured and constant. it was all the same- but different too. so the tune has all the same notes (pentatonic), but the textures kinda noodle around a bit. i wasnt so concerned w/ structure as much as a thick soup of textures. and i agree...would be cool with film. and its ok if the thread dies :) we all gotta go sometime.
