Jetone - Ultramarine

I love Haunt me, haunt me, do it again. Radio Amor is nice.
Autumnomonia has it's moments. What's the deal with
Ultramarine? Why does every song have to have a constant
base drum kick going at a similar tempo? This could be a
nice album if every kick was just taken out completely.

He had a better Jetone track on the Tigerbeat 6 compilation.

The Ultramarin album doesn't do too much for me either.
Octan and Thousand Oaks are good tracks. Only Then sounds
like it escaped from one of his Tim Hecker albums.

This is excellent. I know the basic rhythmic signal is a bit
repetitive but it is covered by a wall of micro rhythms. I
think of it as a drone anyway. The textural detail and
richness is similar to the Tim Hecker albums.

Autumnumonia is wayyyy better. It's almost too normal.

It does get a little clubby after the middle yes.

Autumnumonia sounded a little run of the mill glitch to me.
I'll listen to it again.

Yep... almost too normal! There are a couple of tracks that
knock me out... Marilyn Chambers and Heatdeath... there's
definitely a lot of generic tunes on there, too.

its a brillian album , u just have to have the right
soundsystem and the right environment at the right time of
night, to be able to comprehend the amazing minimalism and
simplicity and crazy ride that ultramarine can take u to
with its repetition..

yea, i know, im full of bollox

but ultramarine is imo one of the best force releases

nothing like a good repetition!

Hmmmmm, I'm going to give this another listen. Broker Dealer
put me more in the mood for steady repetition with minimal
variation.

yea
broker dealer is good, but it just has one good layer of
music, and thats it

but ultramarine is really really layered with such amount of
details..uhh...

anywayz... 2am,get yrself in a place with good sound system,
with a good pot..turn down the lights, up the volume...

and 15 minutes later...ull be somewhere far far away :)

Wow, you're right - it's not even noon and no pot but Octan
is in time with my washing machine - my "sturdy cottons"
cycle is providing a nice rhythmic counterpoint. :-)

Where am I? That looks like my desk but the apartment is not
supposed to sound like this! omg lolrofl &c.

I put Howlin' Wolf's skull in mine. He keeps my blues bluer
than blue and also functions as a fabric softener dispenser.
