Pink, all the way.
Deepspace: What you're refering to is the "brown note"- the fequency at which the human bowels resonate at.

When used properly (ala BOC), tape hiss can be great... but in general recordings, its just annoying. Vinyl crackle is generally fine, unless its crazy ass dubplate style noise.

aahhhh... i´m so glad shitty compact tape is dead. i grew up with that shit, always hated everything about it but there was no alternative, so i had to use tapes.
tapes: the only "format" worse than mp3.
vinyl crackle: i love vinyl more than everything, but making a hype about the crackle is a bit exaggerated. if someone treats his records well, there will be no crackle at all. if there is - it spoils the music.

anyone has sound samples of white noise / brown noise / pink noise? just out of curiosity, knowing that it's 3dB/octave or something doesn't really enlight me on what it sounds like (maybe i don't have a thinking ear...) ' _'
