There doesn't seem to have been too much mentioned here about this very cool band, so i figured i make a thread for it... As far as i know, it is the work of one man: Ben Chasny basically just really beautiful washes of acoustic guitar, verging on drone at times, at other times very expressive... ethereal chimes, field recordings... sometimes he sings, and he's an interesting singer too... the sound is a merging of folk and psychedelic sensibilities... as well as a merging of eastern approaches to music, such as the raga, with western folk/blues sensibilities... John Fahey is the first influence to come up when Chasny is mentioned... check it out if you're interested... |
