...does it often happen that packages get lost in
international orders?

i've got one (that i really care about and i don't
know if i could have it sent again) that has been sent from
usa around february 24th, and i haven't received it yet (i
live in france)... do you think it has been lost, should i
cry or should i still wait? (i know that from usa it can
take a lot of time) =/

around 20th january i got a letter that was sent from
belgium on christmas eve.

~8 post cards/letters sent to me to iceland in the summer
never reached me.

if you want to be more sure i guess using registered mail
could be a good choice.

I'm currently looking into sending a painting to the
netherlands (to someone on this board actually)... the
postage would be 80 FREAKIN' ENGLISH POUNDS. I couldn't
belieeeeeve it.

uzim:: whoever told you it should have got there by now is a
complete idiot and has no idea what they are talking about.
the mail system in countries, especially canada and america
TOTALLY FUCKING SUCK. Ive been ordering over 25 things in
the last 3 months and some I ordered back then just got here
a little while ago, you can never really tell with the
postal system, its rare that things do really get lost,
trust me. I havent had one thing missing or broken yet, so
have faith in it.. just enough anway.

well, i've had stiff from America, and it's taken 4 days
(that's for stuff like CD's, stickers, smallish items)

My circuit-bent Casio SK-1 was quite a big package, and that
only took 2 weeks

i dunno why everyone elses stuff takes so long!

i hope that you all get stuff as quickly as i seem to be
getting stuff

stiff=stuff

i'm typing in the dark, and I can't see very well

that was a really bad typo

deepspace9mm > yeah... well, if it's a painting with all the
care needed...

(still i admit it's a lot expensive °_°)

actually i do have an idea what i'm talking
about

i've ordered loads of things from the states, and as said in
my previous post, they've never taken longer than 2 weeks
(and that was for a considerably sized package)

please don't assume i know nothing, when in fact i DO know
something - my items that i order from America usually get
here within a week

i order tons of stuff from overseas, never lost anything
yet. you could pay a little extra (30 cents for a letter
size, US) for conformation, or have your mail insured if you
are really worried. sometimes things take 3-5 days, other
times up to a month.

I didn't even tell the company it was a painting... just
provided the weight and size (it's gonna be pretty big,
150x80cm or so). I guess i'm gonna have to look for cheaper
shipping companies. Grrr.

I despise the postal service all over the world. Too slow
and expensive.

Sick of them stealing my property.
