I just found out that Sote have released an EP called Xoxo
on Dielectric records. I can't find it for sale, though.
Have anyone heard it? It it available on Slsk? Electric Deaf
is brilliant, and I want more Sote-stuff...

That is ceazytalk.
New album called Dastgaah is out, but I can't listen to the
clips from where I am. He didn't hit bulls eye with his last
mp3-reøease, so I have to wait till I can listen to the
snippets :(

the warp ep was good, but the snippets @ dielectric aren't
very impressing.
the ep on warp had a certain rave-factor which is completely
missing in those snippets. xoxo sounds like generic idm, and
dastgaah like biosphere.
not my cuppaT

New Sote 12" on recordlabelrecords.

"limited edition of 300 copies as soon as we get word the
album is finished duplicating we will start taking
preorders. All records either in turquoise or opaque white
vinyl packaged in a custom sewed fabric pouch of varying
designs. Three devastating loud braindance jungle tracks in
the style of Sote's classic Warp 12" 'Electric Deaf'
clocking in at 20 minutes."

samples sounds fucking awesome

Sote says:

"there will be a double cd album project of my work and of a
great composer i've discovered in iran recently who made
electronic music 40 years ago. i can't tell u which label
this project will be released on since we haven't signed the
actual contract yet. but it's scheduled for release in june
of 2007, and it will be called "persian electronic music -
yesterday and today".

I think the packaging and presentation on the Sote 12" for
RLR is truly one of a kind. I was lucky enough to design
the sticker label for this release. You can see it
here. I'm really excited to be a part of this.
RecordLabelRecords has a shitload of rad stuff cooked up...

Keep an eye out and an ear open...

They had a problem with the white vinyl pressings, so
they're sending me the turquoise vinyl instead, with the
white record to follow for free when they're done properly.
Very nice chaps these record label record people.

Just have to bump this. What's your opinion then? I just
love it. Beautiful release similar to his Warp-single. And I
wish Warp could put out some more of those classic
blue-singles. It's all about the big bands today...

No idea why are so atiment about a 12" only on some of this
stuff. You think that if they wanted to get it out, and
boost the music scene that they could do a small run of cds
or whatever. Same thing with the Kush Arora 12". Double cd
sounds descent.

Generally, labels can only afford to put out a release in
one format only. If it is for home listening, it will almost
certainly be on CD. If it is dancefloor music, it needs to
be pressed onto vinyl. This Sote release is geared towards
the latter.
