Savath and Savalath does NOT sound like Prefuse though. I
can't come up with anything that does...

Naaaah. Not really. But one could check out Aim-Cold water
music, and Xela-For frosty...

Get "extinguished" it's the b sides/unused tracks to OWE and
IMO far better (although it lacks "End of Biters -
International" which is probably my favourite prefuse track)

Maybe it's just me. But I have almost always trouble hearing
it when artist are compared. When I check out Boomkat, and
they write "Autechre-style" for an unknown artist, and I
think "Cooool!", and when I listen to it, I think "Where the
fudge is the Autechre-style in this???"

Check out all of it!

Isn't prefuse a trip-hop-ish guy?

i'm so glad someone brought this up, im in the same
position, i just started listening about a month ago. dj
shadow is similar but nowhere near as good i reckon, are
there any other kinda idm hiphop artists?

Aim and Xela. And maybe Arovane-"Tides". Very melodic and
with some hip-hop beats.
You should also check out some of the hip-hop'ish Gescom
stuff. Their remixes of "Boogie Down Bronx" and "Non
Existant" are awesome.

hmm.. mortsto: you seem to be really into these artists.

I've only got Aim (all the albums), Dj Shadow (endtroducing)
and RjD2 (deadringer) so far.

could you make a short list of those artists, and
preferrably with a good first album to get?

i think if you like prefuse, you'd probably like most off
the stuff from the ninjatune label

I can't think of much more that I've already mentioned.
Dj Shadow-Pre-emptive strike (a must!)
RjD2-The Horror
Xela-For frosty mornings and summer nights
Arovane-Tides
DJ Krush-Meiso and Zen
And of course-Prefuse!

If End Of Biters International is the only track from OWE
that you like then Prefuse 73 certainly isn't for you!

"ive nver been into "rap" or whatever the fuck this shit
is."

Can't say I've ever heard someone so completely clueless!

And there are far too many quality tracks on this album to
name.. at the moment Detchibe is my favourite.

Some of it are nice "frosty" electronica and some tracks
have a hip-hop touch like Japanese Whispers and Under the
glow...

zeus - have you heard one world extinguisher? its so fucking
electronic but the vocals rule it!

its great!

i was in a band for 9 years, and when i first got into
electronic i hated vocs being anywhwere near it. but this
stuff sits so well. hell it adds to it!

honestly, i havent had music exite me like this in 2 -3
years.

OWE is my fav prefuse. yeah, its very electronic, but very
natural sounding too... it doesnt feel cold.

machine drum seems kind of more cold to me.

me into plaid.

"routine"

thats the one.

ive just downloaded "vocal studies" and ive gotta say, it
aint no OWE. im hoping it'll grow on me, cause ive allready
ordered it.

anyway, im digging machine drum. thanx.

vocal is awesome too.

I had that for a few months before OWE came out, and I loved
