Aphex Twin DVD Help

As some of you may have read, THAXFA has sent me a VHS
video of a German documentary about Aphex Twin.

I have used my VCR player, TV card and computer to rip the
contents of this documentary to my pc.

The trouble I now have is that I only have Windows Movie
Maker 2 to edit the footage. Microsoft being Microsoft have
decided that their file format is much better then any other
and will only allow me to save the files in .wmv formatt.

This is fine until I come to make the DVD only to find that
the dvd burning software I am using can not read .wmv
files.

I have no software to convert the format so is there anyone
here that can help me locate a free program that will either
convert the .wmv to .avi/.mpg or that can receive a signal
from a video capture device. Thanks in advance.

P.S I have made a VCD in Nero 5 using the .WMV files but I
need a key to unlock the dvd burning capabilities...

didn't you get sofware along with your TV cart to rip stuff?

yes but I still need to edit and cut up the video into
songs, biography etc. The TV card will let you record with
its own software but there is no editing software with it.
So when I come to save I need to be able to save as .avi or
.mpg.

no. but the way I see it, if you don't make money on what
you make with the program, you shouldn't have to pay for it.
It IS after all a professional program, and you are not a
professional who are going to use it for professional
reasons.

so how does that help me? I am not going to make money on
the finished product but that doesn't mean adobe will see it
your way and give it to me for free does it?

download the cracked version of kazaa.

if you become a professional, or you make money of it, use
the money to pay adobe.

does anyone know how to make divx's into dvds? I've been
trying to get Chobits on to DVD so that I may watch it on
the tv for a while, but the picture goes all
pixely-beyond-recognition.

It is not actually I who have been trying, it is a friend of
mine with a mac, so if anyone knows how, help is
appreciated.

this friend of yours with a mac......are they using the DiVX
in .avi format, or are they converting it to .mov before
they put it to DVD?

i only ask because QuickTime has a problem decoding .avi
files that have been encoded with DiVX......i have a
converter utility if you want me to email it to you?
