Good PC RPG's?

I'm in the mood for a cool singleplayer RPG that is
available either as a free download or on filesharing
programs.. I had fun with Neverwinter Nights but it got
fucked up on my new computer so I can't play that anymore...
I'd prefer offline RPG's to online ones. What do you
recommend?

I just ordered KOTOR, solely based on loving Neverwinter
Nights and Star Wars.

I just beat Deus Ex Invisible War for Xbox, and I assume
it's even better for PC. It's RPGish enough, I guess. It's
suave.

yeah seems like a cool game... though really requirement
heavy... it lags even on my mildly beastly computer.

It is actually appaling on the PC. The xbox version is ment
to be awesome though.

KOTOR is the best game I have played in a long time.

easy side.

daggerfall is the bomb

except when you spend a day walking through a dungeon to
find that the objective item is in a room with only one
entry and it's blocked by an iron cage >:(

fallout 1 and 2, fallout 2 is my favorite game ever.

also a really nice RPG, from the creators of fallout, is
Planescape: Torment, a shame you can't buy it anymore and
its not downloadable

haha. well. it's kindof an rpg (i dunno, really. well, i
guess it is. an adventure rpg...thing), but i still vote for
diablo 2. i can't ever get enough of that game. too much
fun. hehe.

Many hours of my live dedicated to Diablo II. I, too,
consider it an RPG - after all, you are progressively
building a character. Only problem is the game is a bore
offline. RPGs are twice as cool when the "role" element is
played with others. Don't you think?

I've logged hundreds of hours in Diablo 2, I've gotten 2
separate accounts to level 75+ (Have a lvl 86 barb now) on
closed BNET.. and I can honestly say that I am never going
to play that game ever again, I get bored INSTANTLY.

Anyone play KOTOR? I need help getting past the Rancor at
the beginning of the game in the sewers.... I have the
synthesized odor but couldnt figure out what to do with it,
so to get into the the Vulkar base I just ran past the
rancor.. but now I can't make it by him again.. What can I
do with that odor stuff? I'm out of frag grenades so I can't
really do physical damage to him now.

yeah, really i've spent way too many hours playing
diablo 2, but...still. i dunno. it's just fantastic. and
yeah, offline play really doesn't even compare to b.net.
CLOSED b.net, mind you.

and i think my account is gone, now. it's been a looong time
since i've played. that almost makes me cry...but then, once
i get back into it (someday) it'll be fun to build it all up
again. i still need to go play with rev persona sometime. he
seems like a very nice chap.

haha, shit.. well, I can make it around the rancor with 1
person still alive, but as you know I cannot leave the area
without my entire party, so here's to hoping that he'll
still take the bait... thanks mate.

I've been overwriting the same save almost the entire
game...

I did get kinda bored - because all my bnet friends left,
but then the newest patch came out (v1.10), and there's a
new shivy of stuff to do. And they changed stuff around to
make the game more enjoyable. DII is fantastic. ;)

I managed to kill the rankor from inside the tunnel entrance
bit with guns and grenades. He seemed to be trapped or
something. I think it was a little glitch in the game that I
used to my advantage.

ok heres what I did.. I made it past the rancor with 1
person, put the odor in the pile and then was going to put
in a grenade (don't have any frag left so I'm not sure if it
would even have worked) but as soon as I clicked to put the
odor in, it automatically went to the sequence where the
rancor sniffs and eats... but when it went back to gameplay,
I had my whole party back hahaha! So I can continue now, but
is there a huge XP bonus I would gain by killing the rancor
now? Can I use a grenade other than frag?

You shouldn't worry about experience so much in KOTOR...
there's plenty to be gained and the level limit is 20.
