i've only been listening to ae for a short while, but that
main melody sounds a little autechre'ish (i reckon)

very cool though

i didn't like the ending though, a bit too quick and abrupt,
but other than that very well done :)

what did you use to do this track? have you actually got a
speak and spell? i thought i heard one in there

I love the beats & bass (altho it could do with more SUB..)
- but the melody lines are too much; the figure just
resolves itself over & over when it really needs to have a
similar sense of chaos and tension as the beats deserve &
"jungle" demands...

Less icing, more ice....

(fuck, I hope that doesn;t sound too harsh....as it's a v.
cool track that just needs a little stipping down & roughing
it up a bit...)...

oscillik,

I just used Cubase VST24 to make the entire track. The
'speak and spell' was just my voice :D.

It's pretty good actually. All of your jungle type stuff
tends to remind me of the Rage Racer soundtrack,
non-offensive jungle-lite type tunes. None of it sounds
dirty and all of the loops and samples you have used are
easily recognisable. Especially as the tramen comes in...I
wanted to hear the dirty Trace bassline.

Not bad, but could do with being darker.

This is for everyone.

Yeah I had real problems recording this track because I
tried to record it straight from PC to sound recorder but it
wouldn't work because the main track was so heavy on CPU
usage. So then I was forced to record it to minidisc and
back into the PC and basically the whole process has
resulted in an inferior recording with lack of bass. So I'm
gutted and I don't have a way to resolve it yet. Also
oscillik I agree the ending is abrupt and basically I was
very mindful that there should be more. So I'm going to add
more.

The lack of bass, while a bit of a problem wasn't the main
thing though. It is the fact that the track just isn't
masty enough, there is no suspense...the melodies are just
too nice...in a d'n'b track where you are using fast breaks
you have to build up suspense and then when the beat drops
it sounds cool. But you track just sort of plods along.

i don't understand why you're recording the audio that way
princo........why not just export the audio from within
Cubase?

that way you'd get all the bass that you originally
envisioned

i just don't get why you're recording to an external device
(your minidisc) and then back from the minidisc to your PC

sounds like you're taking the long route

oscillik,

Basically I tried to record straight to PC but the recording
was majorly skipping etc. So it jeft a really bad recording.
Exporting audio in Cubase VST24 as I recall does include non
VSTi sounds. I'll give it a go though.
