When a "release group" rips a release, they put these with
it. The .nfo contains a load of information about the
release and usually a tracklist etc. The sfv is a file with
which you can verify that the files are all complete and
unmodified, if you use a program such as quicksfv. Neither
file is particularly useful if you just want to listen to
music but the mp3 "scene" people get all pissed off if you
delete them. They are cocks.

ohhhhhhh, i bet that's why some albums have the same string
at the end of the filename. that's the 'release group',
idnit? i share just as much as anyone else, and i don't ask
them to keep special files giving me credit. fuck that.

exactly, they want to get credit for the files when all they
have done is ripped the cd or vinyl .
