I work in my business partner's basement office. He's away
and his mother in law is staying there. She's an old
Swiss/French lady. So much for the setup.

Today she comes into the office shrieking "flitmaus! Ze
shreemps are daieeeeng! You must geev zem ze foodie!"

She's talking about the family Sea Monkeys.

"Your baby shreemps, flitmaus! Zey are daieeeng because you
have not geev zem ze foodie!"

The way she pronounces "ze foodie" is like a dagger in my
brain. Vodka cannot wash it away. I am truly damned.

[I fed ze shreemps and zey are fine]

Seamonkeys (AKA brine shrimp) are resiliant little buggers,
one of the most hardy lifeforms on the planet. How long's he
away for?

Until sunday... I think I can manage to keep them alive
until then. Asides from feeding them I also gotta blow air
into their tiny aquarium with a straw to aerate the water.

I understand that if the whole thing dries out, you can fill
it with water again and the dried eggs will spring back to
life and hatch.

Yep- I was going to suggest that if he was away for a month
or so you kill them off and then hatch new ones a week or so
before he comes back :)
