this MB loves you back!

I am sorry if you took my comment to be negative, it was
neither intended to be positive nor negative just neutral.

I am glad that you feel you have got your life in order. A
word of warning about the giving up of meat and dairy
products( this may apply to drink, drugs and smoke also)...
when I did this it took meabout 3-4 weeks to appreciate the
full effect. During this time my mood was affected due to
the sudden loss of whatever it is that meat and dairy
products supply, maybe the drug you are taking will
counteract this, but anyway the end results far outweight
the initial effort. Enjoy the new lifestyle and make sure
you keep it up!

offline ecnadniarb on 2004-02-23 15:51 [#01086258]

Well given the fact that Risperdal would never be prescribed
as an anti-depressent and IF you required Risperdal it
certainly wouldn't be for a condition you could deal with
without medication. It should only ever be prescribed for
treatment of psychosis.

I have an aunty who is schizophrenic and has been prescribed
this drug in the past. It's not a pleasent thing and
certainly isn't a pick me up drug.

But anyway, I join in with everyone else congratulating you
for whatever you want to be congratulated for...well done.

Not in my experience, besides the fact still remains it is
only prescribed as an anti psychotic drug. Any effect on
depression would be a welcome extra. I know the drug is
used to treat severe manic depression, but only as part of
combination therapy with anti depressent medication.

Both my aunt and the son of my friend when they were on
risperidone medication did not display real pick me up
effects...they basically seemed monged out most of the
time.

If you genuinely are on this medication and you aren't
suffering from psychosis then I recommend getting off it as
soon as possible.

I hope everything is OK for you anyway. Just reading your
first post got me a little mad, I thought it was another
Monoid type stunt.

My aunt is actually a cerebral palsy sufferer and has both

herself.

sorry to hear that.
my aunt also has a whack of things including schizophrenia,
before taking risperdal i asked her about it, she said that
its not that drug to worry about, its when you go off it,
suffer a relapse, go into the psyche ward, get a stronger
dose of risperdal combined with other drugs. im hoping i
wont get to that stage, which 10 million americans have
according to charts ive read :(

Nah it's not bad, her episodes are quite infrequent luckily.
I am serious though, unless you where suffering from
psychotic epiodes before you began medication get off it and
if you feel you need an anti depressent use that instead.

Just get yourself sorted then, and get away from the meds.
The stuff you have discribed are a good start, just make
sure you don't relapse after you stop taking medication.

Has the evolution theory been proven to be fact?
I'm not sure humans have existed for millions of years
(although I might be wrong on that point), but I'm pretty
sure humans today require the same food as they've always
done, which is raw (vegan) food.
You may debate wether a vegan diet is the best or not, but
you can't argue on the raw argument. I know some people eat
meat cause they think it tastes good, but you can't claim
it's good for you (healthy) - that's not even what the
statistics show; e.g. comparing vegetarians and meateaters.

more on topic:
Gwely > Nice work! But if you feel you could be without the
med, quit taking it! good luck with the future though, and
great your feeling better!

I am generally a happy person, but pot would always send me
into severe depression. Advice for getting through quitting
smoking. Take hot, hot baths to the point that you almost
can't get out of the tub. That will help with the cravings.
After to weeks it should be out of your system. The it's all
in your head.

man its not that good that you changed because of a drug,
you should have changed on your own.... I have.. many others
have.... you should too! stop taking the drug and live your
life

it is good that you have made a healthy choice to live this
way, but you shouldnt medicate yourself to do so.

humans have existed less than a million years..and humans
are meat eaters. according to studies, the reason ppl eat so
much fat these days is cuz when pre-historic humans had to
survive in harsh conditions it was important to eat alot of
fat, survival of the fattest, and fat you get from meat.
