i started to read "lullaby" and just lost interest about 3/4
of the way through.

i liked a couple of his other novels though.

seems like an interesting fellow.

Survivor is grand... less out and out shocking than choke,
but just as entertaining and more of a "meaning" or lesson
to it (yes, I know he's a nihilist, but the whole point it
makes about cults/oppressive religions is a valid one).

Re The Guts Reading: He he, amusingly he mentions people
passing out/being overcome by art in Diary :D
I don't get how his sister got pregnant though... surely
they'd not swim in the pool till it had been cleaned after
that happened?!

Any town that has a Pitch and Put golf course right next to
the main road, with no trees or fences to stop you driving a
ball into the middle of the traffic is okay with me :P

yeah I don't really get thet either

He did say after the pool was cleaned, but I found in all
the books I read so far that there's always one bit that I
just don't get

No. I don't want to go to the toilet now, either...

re: his sister- perhaps he didn't learn his lesson and
carried on? :-P

He'd been doing it before that though hadn't he? So she
could've got pregnant from a previous time.

funny story. i know that i for one have a potentially
socially crippling story about myself that i can never
reveal. at least my story didn't end with me in the
hospital. it makes it easier to keep these kinds of things
secret. lol.

i gather this story involves poop, possibly copious amounts
thereof. if that is the indeed case, i believe i know the
sorrid details of mr. evolumes's story. i wouldn't call it
crippling. more like the bruise left after a tussle with an
angry dwarf.

i don't think that his sister getting pregnant was
necessarily because of his spunk so much as it is a thought
that he couldn't get out of his head. kinda like, "what
if..."

The link isn't working for me. Have an alternate?

Palahniuk's books are great. I've read them all except
Fugitives and Refugees. Hopefully I'll get my hands
on that soon. Choke is my favorite book by any
author.

Decent enough I suppose, made me squirm quite a bit (more
with the wax than the pool) but I didn't like the way he
read it.
