So yeah, I made 2 purchases today... a Evolution UC-33e
controller (24 knobs, and 9 sliders, which can be assigned
to stuff on my soft synths), and a Novation K-Station (this
was an impulse buy, only 499... you cant beat that, when
average price is like 700-800 bucks!)

So, now Im going to get a mackie control for Logic, off of
ebay. WOOT!

That keyboard you have closest to your window: I have it.
Can we be friends?

i dunno what's good and what's bad in the hardware

very nice.

What on earth prompted you to buy the Novation? 500 is alot
of money. You've been talking about modulars and I think 500
would've gotten you a S/H G1-keyboard.

paco: I wanted something that didnt need lots of fussing. I
got reaktor for that.

dozier: its a mini-fridge. It was my sisters in college, and
she painted it zebra striped. I got it when she left
college, and Im too lazy to paint over it.

i like em alot

very clean, and digital (I like that) good effects, and the
vocoder is hot :)

hmm... the vocoder would be hot, but clean and digital is
exactly the kind of thing I like to avoid.. I like my sounds
gritty, beefy, and analog :)

well, this can pack a punch, but a digital punch.

I just listened to a sound demo... the vocoder sounds
fucking ace on that thing.. I like the realtime control it
has too, but a few too many keys (of course, in a studio
like yours theres no need for another huge keyboard).

I was thinking about the K station too - how well does it do
high pitched notes? Clean or lots of aliasing?

goddamn that is one comfy looking chair... unfortunately the
arms would get in the way of me playing/recording guitar...
but indeed arm rests are nice to have otherwise...
