Yankee's are starting to piss me off... they now have a payroll over $200 million (basically twice as much as any other team) and a crapload of great players including: Jeter, Sheffield, Giambi, and now Alex Rodriguez to name just a few... It's almost cheating to clean up the free agent market like that... How many other teams could use an A-Rod or a Sheffield? It's just greedy. And the owner George Steinbrenner already has like 4 World Series titles already under his belt, and he's STILL shelling out more money then any one else for some of baseballs best players when he already has a superstar team... I hope he looses this year and every year until he sells his team. Anyways I'm a big time Giants fan but I'm also partial to the Red Sox (go figure). Any other baseball fans on the board? |

I enjoy lots of sports... including Enlish Premiere Soccer ;p ... I just happen to live close to a beatiful ballpark, formerly Pac Bell now the ugly sounding SBC park. I get to see a living lenged, Barry Bonds in person on a regular basis. |

Money. Sports. Fuck it. Because of it, there may not be an NHL season in '04-'05, unless, by some act of God, they can agree on a Collective Bargaining Agreement. Because the players and owners are arguing about money. The players want to live comfortably, and want to make sure they always will... the LOWEST paid players in the league make 500k a year, and they act like they're on welfare. Ridiculous. Not quite as bad as baseball, but still a joke. To make as much money as Alex Rodriguez makes in ONE YEAR, for doing nothing useful, I'd have to work for over one millenium at my current job. |

Well you have to factor in just how much money the sport is making and where that money itself is going... they charge $8 for a small beer, make millions and millions per commerical that goes on the air... so it's only fair that the players should get most of that money, because they are doing most of the work. What's not fair is on team having so much higher of a payroll because their owner is a greedy bastard willing to shell out 100 million more then any other team to steal all the top players AFTER already winning 3 world series titles... virginpusher I'm not sure where I got my avatar, honestly ;p... I got a ticket for Giants vs. Sox at Pac Bell on June 18th. That should be a great game... I'm so happy you guys got Schilling, he's one of my favorite pitchers. Not the biggest Pedro Martienez fan though, he's kind of a jerk off. If the Giants dont go all the way, I'm going for the Sox ;p |
