am i the only one who has this problem with some files? i'm just playing a film (*.avi) on my mediaplayer (or powerdvd) and at a certain point it goes scrkckzkcz@#$% and it closes down the (media)player,
when i run the film again it'll shut off again at the same part of the video, but when i put the timebar a minute after the 'crashpoint' it'll play the rest of the film ok
it's just this one little part where it's fucked, is there something i can do about it or should i stick with skipping 1 minute over the 'fatal' point?
thanks in advance

Try editing it in an editing package?

i'd do what ecnadniarb said. I think Windows Movie Maker will let you import .avi and save it as .wmv, (the conversion should iron out any errors). I assume you have got the correct codecs...

doesn't work either with win movie maker :\ you can only import video files there, and it makes clips of it, but when it reaches the fucked point movie maker shuts down also!
fuck!
do any of you happen to know good editing packages?

yeah, this sounds like DiVX encoding fuckups to me
try to use one of the file fixers, and get a dedicated DiVX player, that might help to rectify any problems
as we all know, DiVX's are prone to stuff like this, we just gotta live with it :(
i've got SLC Punk on DiVX (converted to QuickTime .MOV) and it's out of sync all over the place :(
