yes : not as much as the others in the series, but its nice
to have dvd copies of all of cunninghams work.

no : its only an extract.

theres an extensive thread about this somewhere already..
but the search engine can't seem to find it for me.

series'

i have it, and no, it's not worth it.

btw, did anyone read the cunningham & jonze interview in dvd
review (i'm not sure about the mag, but i think it was this
one)?

i read a cunningham + jonze interview in jockeyslut.

do you reckon its not worth it because you dont like whats
on it, or because you feel disappointed at the lack of
extras or the fact that there isn't half as much on it as
jonze+gondry's dvds?
in my opinion - the cunningham dvd is worth having. i had
vhs copies of most of his videos, but id had them for a few
years+the quality was degrading with every viewing. at least
this way i had good quality versions all together in one
place along with a couple of interesting extras. i'll admit
that the asking price in most places is a bit steep for what
you get. but i've shopped around online + found copies of
all 3 dvds in the directors series for £10.99
which isnt too bad really.

i'd say it isn't really worth it. the only reason to get it
would be for the interviews, but i'm sure you could find
those easily enough.

I thought the book was better than anything on the DVD

there never could have been as much on it though, really..
jonze+gondry are far more prolific in their output than
cunningham, and cunningham is.. well.. lazy, really. when he
does produce something its good though (in my opinion) +
thats why i bought te dvd. to have what little he has done.
the other 2 are definitely better value for money though.

i wasnt impressed by the cunningham dvd
there was far to much left off of it

im not denying that there could have been a lot more on it..
it has the feel of a rushed collage really.
maybe he only wanted to include his favourite works.

all im saying is that if, like me, you want copies of all
his major videos, and you can get a good price on the dvd..
its worth having.

youre right for the fact if you want the main bulk but for
me i like the videos that made him famous
it gives you and idea of his travel through directing

good - there just could be more.

Ceri leant it to me, I enjoyed it....I don't know how much
he paid for it, but it was quite short. Nice book came with
it.

"don't know how much
he paid for it" What are you implying?! :O

:)

Such a shame there wasn't the full length of Flex...

I've only got the Spike Jonze one and it's absolutely
outstanding value for money. Really nice selection of
videos, great commentaries, apart from the Daft Punk one is
so bad it's funny.

Have to get the Gondry one and yeah, I've been looking
forward to a Cunningham DVD for ages so I'll probably get
that as well.

just bought the cunningham dvd yesterday for $13.99 US. it's
really good, but short. i was really excited about seeing
the full monkey drummer vid, cuz all i had before was an
excerpt. plus it's great to have all his vids in dvd
quality. i want to get jonze & gondry too, they both look
and sound really good.

in order or greatness (imo)

1. gondry
2. jonze
3. cunningham

my ratings are on a combination of quality and quantity.

is there anyone who has the full version of Flex available
for download through LimeWire?

i really want the full version, someone must have it
somewhere!

yes that would be nice. also, is there an .mp3 of richard's
soundtrack for it? that would be nice as well.

the full length version of flex was screened during the
interval of the warp/sinfonietta tour.
nice to see it in its entirety after only being able to see
the extract on the cunningham dvd.
i didnt spot the subliminal cumshot though.
the film seemed to really disturb some people sat nearby..
which made me laugh even louder.

its pretty easy to record + edit the soundtrack to flex from
the dvd with a wav recorder. then simply encode it at the
highest quality available to you.
thats what i did.

yes...i could do that...but will i? there are several ways
of doing it...just asking if maybe someone had it on slsk,
or....just shut up, ok? ;)
