you might want to see 'Spun'. a movie a about crystal meth
addicts. It's very similar in both style and content.

i've seen what crystal meth can do to people and it aint
pretty. now i'm curious as to how RFAD is anywhere near
related to a drug addict on meth

ive seen both, im so damn bored with drug movies of all
kinds but Spun is not jsut a drug movie, it's pure eye and
ear candy imo.

Jonas makes nice stuff and it's really nice to see him
making a long movie.

U seen that Smashing pumkins video (Cant recall name) he did
? its really damn wicked and "disturbing"

the only videos i can think of are 1979, bulletholes in
butterfly wings, tonight (i think thats what its called),
and the one where they're driving down in the middle of
nowhere in an ice cream truck, which i think was Day of
Eleanor

Requiem for a Dream was the most powerful movie. Extremely
beautiful and depressing at the same time. So i must check
out this movie Spun, ive heard about it but ill go rent it
in the next few days. Thanks!

I've seen all three referenced, and they're all great. Spun
is my least favorite, though the ending blew my mind.

re smashing pumpkins convo -

oh dear.. no all the aforementioned SP vids were done by the
band themselves. This guy (swedish or something isn't he?)
was "Try Try Try" from the Machina album.

will have to look into this spun one, sound interesting.

I don't like Requiem For A Dream...so if this other film is
also stylised nonsense masking the thinnest of plots I will
give it a miss. :P

requiem for a dream - why when they do the shots they show
there pupils dilating instead of contracting

Some drugs do the dilate, some do the contract...

Inject speed, coke etc...& the eyes go big...

On H or other opiates the eyes get tiny...

It's only recently I've been able to re-watch RFAD a few
times - been far too close to home previously....

Thats why i mentioned it .. they are supposedly on heroin in
the movie ...
Unless they were mixing coke with every shot , which i doubt
- hence the discrepancy

On the dvd , the outtakes of Hubert Selby riding marlon in
the jail are priceless

The drug use seemed fairly varied...

Smack, yeah....but a lot of coke as well...

And maybe some crystalm...

How Ellen Burstyn missed the oscar for that performance
still astounds me....

the short film version of try, try, try which appears on the
smashing pumpkins videos dvd seems to be a precursor to
spun, the movie. similarly disturbing

jonas åkerlund, did the video for Prodigy's "Smack My Bitch
Up", Madonna's "Music", etc

I agre about Ellen Burstyn, her performance was amasing, and
for them to give the Oscar to Julia Roberts instead was an
insult.
