Im guessing 2005, seeing as Maynard is touring with APC
most of this year. Toolband.com keeps mentioning that the
rest of the band are writing new music as we speak. Sweet.

i think they usually write without him, and he comes in late
in the writing process.

Or even better, if they did something totally unexpected;
and it was great.

untill then, the live dvd will more than suffice, if it ever

mappatazee: well... yeah ofcourse that would be nice, but I
doubt it will happen, either they do something like their
latest cd or it will be a revert back to the old..... oh
well, either way Im sure it will be ok.

hmm i thought otherwise.. ofcourse.. I dont know, their new
one wasnt too impressive for me, I like their first 2 cds
best.

i thought rhythmically and melodically it seemed to return
to a more opiate type sound.... aenima was a little more
'standard'

lyrically though, it's on its own

i bet it's sound will be closest to undertow, more than any
other album.

really when you think about it tool usually sounds like
tool, it's hard to distinguish tool eras unless you read the
lyrics or pay attention to the production...

Nothing can top Opiate and Undertow. I'm tired of their
pseudo intellectual mumbo jumbo. Just rock me, baby.

dude you can still totally break stuff while listening to
lateralus

You could break weak, poorly made stuff listening to
Lateralus. But not concrete blocks, like when you're
listening to Part of Me.

nothing will sound like opiate/undertow/aenima...
it will be a new step.

and lateralus is not pseudo-intellectual mumbo jumbo...

dude whatever, when he like yells during the first song on
lateralus, i could break the shit out of anything. and kick
like a dog in the balls that's trying to bite my ass because
the music is so hard

Ze scream in 'Jerk Off' from Opiate is all the harder. Yeh.

everytime some music is so you cant mosh and jump to it's
pseudo intellectual mumbo jumbo?

anyways lateralus is their most mature work to date. i dont
compare aenima or undertow to it, cuz they stand perfectly
well on their own. and opiate is the weakest of their
stuff...part of me sounds like a cheesy metallica song.

I;m a big fan of tools new album, I like the older stuff,
but I reckon the newer stuff has more integrity, however, I
know that 90% of tool fans out there disagree, and they'll
usually give the excuse "they just don't sound as angry as
they used to" but why the fuck should it matter how angry it
sounds, lateralus is so fucking awesome it doesn't matter
that he's not shouting like a retard about how much he hates
stuff
