Monoid, please don't ask for any MEDS , and I wish you
wouldn't see a Neurologist. I wish you could see that your
problems are mainly created by your own mind, I am not
saying that they are not real but that they are self
inflicted.

I have a friend who was in a similar situation to you. He
had lost all confidence and self esteem. He was
directionless, depressed and suicidal. He went to a
Psychologist (a big mistake) who diagnosed him, labelled him
and threw him into some category of mental illness. Only bad
came from this for my friend was not convinced that he had a
problem and that he was helpless to stop it. He was given
MEDS of various colours shapes and sizes.

After taking these so called 'cures' for a week he suffered
from side effects like nausea, drowsiness and tiredness.

I persuaded him to stop taking them and I booked the two of
us on a 2 week holiday to France. I wanted to get him far
away from the life that he knew and hated, away from all the
exterior negative influences and into whole new fresh
environment.

Over the next two weeks I helped him to empty his head of
all his misconceptions about himself and gave him new ideas
and opened his mind to his true potential. We talked about
what he enjoyed doing, what he would want his life to be
like if he could change anything. It didn't take long
before we were up long into the night drinking and laughing
(I hadn't seen him really laugh for years) . After two
weeks he was enjoying being alive again as everybody should.

I extended the holiday for another week so that he could
explore this new idea that he was master of his own life. He
realised that he did not need other people to tell him what
was wrong with him because he already knew what was right
with him and that’s all that matters.

His love of music directed him to enrol in a college course
for sound engineering. He has been there for about a year
now and couldn't be happier, he talks to people enjoys
playing music and learning new things.

If you cou

only see through this veil of depression that you have
shrouded yourself in Monoid. Please think about what you
are going to do, and realise that this is not the way it's
supposed to be. Things can be a lot better and it is much
easier than you think.

though i do not agree with jazembo's opinion on
psychiatrists, because i think they want to cure to get
fulfillment out of their jobs and because there's enough
patients for them around. that's the case for most of them
anyway, imo, and since he's your friend as you say, i
believe it's an okay shrink.
i do agree that you should be careful about the meds, the
medicins wont get you out of the life your in, you still
have to do that yourself

A neurologist wouldn't give out MEDS...a neurologist is
concerned with physical aspects of the brain and nervous
system and as a result would only give medication if there
was a physical problem and certainly not because you need
something to chill.

You see the problem here is that there is unfortunetly no
medication to cure attention seeking twat disorder.

Do you feel that they helped you? Don't you think it is
strange that after taking those other MEDS you now need to
take more.

thanks monoid... please be careful with the meds... if you
don't take steps to improve your life in non-medical manner
you will end up relying on them to the point that you will
never be able to go off them...
