i just got through listening to bossanova and tromple le
monde and i can reconfirm that this may be the greatest band
ever.
and trompe le monde is probably the most criminally
overlooked album ever. alec eiffel, motorway to roswell,
trompe le monde, letter to memphis, space (i believe
in)...too many good tracks.

Space (I believe in) is the track that almost spoils that
album. It sounds like some of the dreck Frank threw together
for his first solo album. (Not that there aren't any good
tracks on the first solo album. There are a few. There are
also horrible tracks.)

So yeah, ATM I'm torn between Surfer Rosa and Trompe le
Monde as favorite pixies album. Bossanova I've listened to
too many times to enjoy it, and Doolittle I never formed an
attachment to, though it also has some good songs.

Doolittle is my favorite. They're playing at Coachella this
year (!).

That Black Francis is so spacey! Always with the aliens and
the planets and the crazy spaceships.

Frank's such a great songwriter, and I love most Pixies and
his first couple of solo albums... but one of the things
that disrupts my Pixies love is his obnoxious... having of
fun.
