Tokyo Drifter

an art-house free form jazz yakuza film. about a drifter
who's boss has tried to go straight, but rival yakuza gangs
won't let it happen and try to take advantage of the
situation.

very interesting "mod" style direction. interesting use of
color and light. a little difficult to follow the story but
over all a pretty good movie. similar to say.... "Miller's
Crossing" but.. well not really.

3/5 stars.

afx numb:
glengarry glen ross is one of my all time favorite movies.

excellent dialogue. best performance ever by alec baldwin.
one of the best pachino performances as well. in fact
everyone in that movie is fucking awsome.

anyone who hasn't seen it should do so right away.
especially if you love dialogue driven movies.

part specifially for Alex Baldwin-he also said fuck and the
derivative 138 times.

Salo (The 120 Days of Sodom) -

Well I watched it in Italian without subtitles, and I don't
speak Italian so I can't give this a rating overall. But I
can say that it is the most sickening film I have ever seen.
10/10 in that department.

you actually watched the whole thing without undrstanding
any of it?? i thought those stories were the point of the
film...tho if you like sick stuff, you probably got at least
something out of it :)

anyway, i couldn't find english subtitles either...
so if someone has them i'd love them (my english is a little
better than my italian heh).thank you.

Buffalo Soldiers - 4/5
The Big Lebowski - 4/5
Kill Bill - 5/5 - About time Tarantino did a movie that
wasn't self-indulgent bullshit. I don't care how much
people rave about him, his first 3 movies weren't as great
as everyone made out.
Big Fish - 3/5 (Disappointing, to say the least)
Princess Mononoke - 5/5

I'll post more as I see 'em.

Big Fish was, well, a fairly pointless affair, considering
Tim's other films. I dunno, perhaps I got bored with the
characters.

Which shouldn't happen, since this IS Tim Burton.

Edward Scissorhands will always win for me, seconded by
Sleepy Hollow.

That movie is where the term "kick arse" is manufactured and
tested.

tattoos.

Pirates Of The Caribbean.

2/10

Junk.
I would like to give it 0 but it gets 2 because one : it had
Johny Depp who is a charismatic actor.

and two : It had the actor from the genious show "The
Office" where he played the idiot Gareth Keenan to play the
idiot pirate with a glass eye (a glass eye that itches!).

agreed, Johny Depp tends to make any film worth watching.
The action was boring and Orlando Bloom was pretty bad.

Johny Depps acting skills is certanly not flawles but he
makes up for it with his charisma and cinematic presence.

Agreed , Orlando Bloom was shit .
He was the elf again but with a different costume.

Ondskan (swedish for EVIL)

Oscar nominated best foreign movie.

3/5

The actors are stiffs who deliver the dialoge like robots
sometimes , (but the guy in the leading role has a certain
something).
But its a captivating and exhiting story about cruelty
fascism and oppression.
The original book by Jan Gilluo is ten times better.

No no , but it was so incredibly crappy that it really
pussled me why it didn't go directly to the video shelfs.
I guess it was the big names Samuel Jackson , Collin Farrel
that prevented that.
