did you know that Georgio Morodor, who used to produce for Donna Summer, wrote almost half of the tracks on The Neverending Story soundtrack?

If You Want The Gayest of Gay Disco music, Try looking for tracks by "Bumble Bee Unlimited" They made around 3 tracks in the late 70's - "love bug" was the best. They used some quirky production techniques but its Funky as fuck!

some good suggestions so far. here's some more..
funkadelic : one nation under a groove thats a great disco track.
anita ward : ring my bell (i used to dance round the house to this as a kid)
luke vibert's forthcoming 'kerrier disco' lp on rephlex is meant to be a straight fwd disco release.. we shall see.
and definitely check out francois k's release in the 'choice:a collection of classics' series. most of the tracks featured aren't the obvious disco tunes that spring to mind.. but fk was there dj-ing + producing at the time + knows his stuff. this shows, because the disco tunes on this double cd compilation are really fat.
enjoy.
[+let me know what you think]

correction: 'kerrier district'.. sorry, got disco on the brain.
this thread has reminded me of a very amusing vinyl a good friend of mine gave me for my birthday a few years ago. he found it in a charity/bric-a-brac shop i think. released on arcade records in 1978, its called 'disco drums: 24-non-stop-disco-hits' +features some hilarious cover art.
none of the 24 tracks are original versions. but this matters not as some were never disco tunes to begin with. flowing seamlessly into one another with little or no variation in rhythm, the tracklisting is as follows:
01) stayin alive/night fever/you should be dancing (medley) 02) don't leave me this way 03) don't let me be misunderstood 04) black is black 05) i feel love 06) singing in the rain 07) ma baker 08) get up + boogie 09) i can't stand the rain 10) so you win again 11) theme from close encounters 12) yes sir, i can boogie/sorry, im a lady (medley) 13) rivers of babylon 14) je t'aime 15) i remember yesterday 16) sunny 17) daddy cool 18) car wash 19) that's the way (i like it) 20) disco stomp 21) whodunnit
the lp truly is priceless.. garuanteed to raise a smile.
for a more contemporary take on disco try 'greven love' by erobique on acidjazz records.

not only are they NOT the original beegee/boneym versions.. but their inclusion in this thread was to highlight the novelty value of the vinyl.

The Kerrier District stuff has to be some of the most easy to get into stuff I've heard in a while. Damn Luke Vibert is so so so good. I can't wait for this mother to come out. Definitely the best thing to come out on Rephlex recently. Luke Vibert definitely creates the big titles!
