What is this really? Is it released on Skam? I've seen this
in a record store - but I didn't take a close look at it -
and I'm wondering if it's something I should buy...

Why didn't you take a closer look? In case it bit you on the
nose? I don't think you should buy it, it sounds dangerous.

It was on a shelf behind the counter... I couldn't be arsed
to ask as long as I didn't know what it was... Sometimes I
hate drawing ANY kind of attention to myself and that was
one of those days...

hmm.. i think you can feel safe, co. i usually don't buy
compilations.

althoug, if there are lots of great artists there, i could
probably find stand-alone albums from each of the artists at
apollon (vinyl!)

i like it. there have been a couple more smak releases on
vinyl since the cd's came out. both are pretty good, but not
amazing.

the quinoline yellow smak release is fantastic. gotta love
the tractor track.

what's the deal with some of the artist names being very
similar to other skam artists? geiom / gescom | ola / bola

tattamax sounds a lot like quinoline yellow to me.

i really like the first cd.

ola is ola's first name (bergmann is his last, can't
remember if that's the correct spelling); bola came first
though (all i know about the name bola is that it's a common
name in nigeria), i think gescom comes from gestalt
communications (not sure on this), and i have no idea about
geiom.

geiom is kamal joory, a nottingham lad who released a few
bits on cco and also a album called sellotape flowers on neo
ouija a year or two ago.
