wasn't This Mortal Coil a collaboration with artists on 4AD
records?

I heard one song called Song of the Siren? David Lynch was
going to use it in Lost Highway I think. That song is
amazing.

Have on mp3. It's nice. Can't remeber what it's called. Girl
singing and acoustic guitar. Nice song.

All I know about "This Mortal Coil" and "Lacuna Coil" for
that matter, is that they both pop up when I search for Coil
on CD websites. Are they any good?

This Mortal Coil is excelent, Lacuna Coil is a heavy metal
band famous only because the female singer is hot.

I knew one of them was heavy metal, though I thought it was
the other way around.

Song for the Siren is one of the most beautiful tunes out
there....

I forget which TMC albums it's on (double CD???)...

Pure class....Isn't it Liz Frazer from the Cocteaus singing
it?.... I forget...

Yeah I've always seen these when searching for Coil
"Icon of Coil"
"This Mortal Coil"
"Lacuna Coil"

I think This Mortal Coil is an 80's band mainly. David
Lynch used in Blue Velvet yeah? I think I saw that on the
DVD extra features or something, about making the score.

This mortal coil was a sort of a label-band consisting of
various 4ad artists, 'conducted' by the very style-conscious
label boss Ivo Watts-Russell.

And David Lynch did use This Mortal Coil's "Song to the
siren" in Lost Highway.

There was a great exhibition of 4AD covers recently...Can't
recall the design group involved, but all were pure
class...
