Was reading the mtve website and they listed some hot new
releases in they year 2004, and this is what they said about
BoC

Boards Of Canada
They have been at the front of electronic music since 1997's
"Music Has The Right To Children." The new album drops this
spring and will be preceded by the single "Dead Dogs Two."

Dead Dogs Two is the cLOUDDEAD single that they will be
remixing...

hehe, maybe we shouldnt trust mtv for "IDM" news...

they sold 100.000 of mhtrtc...that puts them at the front?
or is it their quality?

offline hyakusen from 8=============> on 2004-01-24 16:19 [#01047195]
Points: 7021 Status: Addict

we have squarepusher, Vsnares, ae, RDJ, at the front. even
if Boc released good albums you cant say that they are in
front since 97

I believe it is a mix of both. They were like #36 for
something in rolling stone.

Dont be silly Vsnares lacks the quality.

offline pf from Finland on 2004-01-24 16:23 [#01047198]
Points: 3316 Status: Lurker

agree with virginpusher, Vsnares aint good enuff to be in
the front.

offline hyakusen from 8=============> on 2004-01-24 16:24 [#01047200]
Points: 7021 Status: Addict

yeah, but Vs is quite popular here, in fact ive seen more
vsnares threads than BoC threads.
and BoC were at the top after MHTRTC , theye were never so
high at their musical form after that, even Geo.. and Twoism
are weak when you compare them to MHT...
they are not fresh, not new anymore

offline DeadEight from vancouver (Canada) on 2004-01-24 16:27 [#01047204]
Points: 5437 Status: Regular

vsnares does not lack the quality, but he does lack the
clout to be considered at the forefront of electronic
music... plus he's only really been mega popular in idm
circles for a year or so...

I'do enjoy some Vsnares, but it's like 2% of the material he
has released. But i dont think that either one of Vsnares or
BoC are in the front.

field.

lol at vsnares being at the "front". His albums sell like
3000 each.

"Come To Daddy" is the best selling IDM album. It sold over
100,000 in the US alone.
