Hey xlt.
Here's a chance to list who you think are the best and most
promising artists of the 00's. They can't have released
material (or breakthrough material at a stretch) before
2000, but during is fine.

It'd be nice if you could include reasons why, too.

Mine:
Venetian Snares
Despite what many think the guy's a 1st class electronic
musician, and the think the best of him is still yet to
come.

Prefuse 73
Contributed a great deal to what we now are calling
'IDM-hop' or 'clickhop' with his first two albums (under
this alias), Prefuse has definitely found a unique and
strangely-accessible mixture of hip-hop and electronic
music.

There probably more but I'm interested to read what other
people come up with.

I started with Vocal Studies + Uprock Narratives, but people
went insane for One Word Extinguisher. They're both great,
but you're going to be getting a lot more than just a
hip-hop feel.

True, but I'm looking for newer artists.

Wasn't fond of Now You Know but Urban Biology had some nice
shit on there. I find it a little samey and/or boring
sometimes though.

Is the tstewart alias any different? I want glitchier stuff.

tstewart is kind of glitchy ambient stuff. like fennesz -
endless summer style but unfortunately there are only a few
tracks on some merck compilations.
he has some new full lengths out this yr.

Ochre

His music kicks ass. The clicks/pops/squelches he always
incorporates into the drum beats are so damn catchy, and I
love his super fast "ochre-arcade-style" melodies.
