just found an old double casette (yes, casette) that a friend gave to me years ago. it was released in 1994 (i think, or maybe 1995) as a retrospective of "volume" magazine.. tracklisting as follows: the orb > reefer spin in the galaxy cabaret voltaire > low cool one dove > fallen bjork > one day the shamen > hyperreal pop will eat itself > bulletproof the grid > cybernetic system 7 > miracle underworld > change delta lady > anything you want the drum club > one tribe sabres of paradise > lick wid nit wit spooky > aqualung orbital > belfast/wasted c > he was massive attack > karmacoma (remix) tricky > you don't cypress hill > lick a shot credit to the nation > come dancing little axe > 15 to 4 the sandals > venice groove stereo mcs > elevate my mind jah wobble > whiskey priests node > olivine new order > confusion moby > go lfo > slow down speedy autechre > lanx 3 afx > en trance to exit (misspelled on the sleeve) mindless drug hoover > the reefer song having completely forgotten about it, its a nice little snapshot of what was around at the time. obviously some of the tracks have endured.. as have a fair few of the artists. some sound really dated though (and not all of them in a familiar, enjoyably nostalgic way).. the layout & artwork for the mag & sleeve are appalling - real tacky early half of the nineties stuff. anybody else got any little rough gems like this lying around? |

I have all the trance europe express and trance atlantic cds and several of the volume ones. A nice little gem I unearthed again recently was the Serious Road Trip compilation. A couple of pretty choice tracks on there. |
