µ-ziq - bluff limbo... mono?

Hello there. I've just bought "Bluff Limbo" by µ-ziq.
It's a great album, I love the soundscapes and the old
equipment.

I was just wondering, if it's normal that the album is in
mono? Stuff only comes from the central channel, there's no
stereo seperation. I'm not whining, I'm just wondering if
it's normal. If so, then so be it, but it could be a
problem with the CD.

I've just recently discovered him, and I think he's really
great. I've got now bluff limbo, bilious paths, brace
yourself, lunatic harness, my little beautiful, salsa with
mesquite, tango n'vectif and finally umur bile trax.

I own it, but I don't remember noticing that it was in mono,
I'm seriously doubting that its a problem with the discs. As
you know it was made with ancient equipment.

Yeah that make sense, it's a pretty old release (1996) and
even at that time it was done with old equipment. I
actually like the fact that it's mono, it's very relaxing
and you can easily focus on it.

It's just rare, a mono record in idm.

I think it came out in 1994 actually...

How come you haven't bought "In Pine Effect", or "Royal
Astronomy" ?

I thought those were his best albums...

I disagree, I thought Lunatic Harness was the least
memorable of the 5 first releases.

my copies in stereo, there's some obvious stereo effects on
sometracks where things pan about..

i know what you mean... when i heard Bluff Limbo i was
really wondering why it sounded like mono. i got the
impression there's very little panning and less stereo
effects on BL than on Mike's other albums. may be that's why
it sounds like this.
