I've an ATi radeon 7000 graphics card, wanna view a movie
on my tv via the comp, got it all hooked up but as the movie
plays on the monitor, all there is is a black box on the tv,
though i can see the desktop around it. any takers?

i have a 9200 and you gotta go into the ati toolbox and
change monitors or at least turn both on. wait and i'll have
a look on mine.

ah shit i aint got that bit installed right now cos i'm so
lazy but yeah it's usually in advanced properties on the
settings tab of your display properties box. so go in there
and select display and i think it'll have like on/off
buttons near each monitor, so use them.

ok, i can see other movies fine but not this particular one,
do some divx have security measures or some such shit so you
can't view them on a tv?

I'm having the same problem with my laptop. I can either
duplicate or extend my desktop onto the TV. Either way I
can't see the film playing, just the desktop round it.

usually if u can see it on the monitor, it should play the
same on the tv.

others work now and this one doesn't? i got absolutely no
idea, but if it aint even working on your monitor u prolly
need a codec.

i have seen some dvd's that don't work through another
device, eg a dvd to vcr to tv setup, but i can't say if this
is the same thing.
