Monday, 19th January 2004

Perhaps one of the most significant days of my life....I
finally picked up two of Brian Eno's ambient works - On Land
and Apollo.

Quite simply, this music is stunning. Never before have I
heard such exquisite music. For the Eno experts out there,
which other albums (of eno's or not) are also worth getting?
I need so much more ambient, and there is still so much to
explore...

Maybe Plateaux of Mirrors, or Music For Airports?

Help appreciated, thx in advance ;)

I've heard that's a good starting point...

Does it have lots of corny guitar on it, though? That's one
aspect of Apollo I don't like... :(

'Corny guitar'

Hah! Embrace it, yo

And I reccommend Plateaux of Mirror, it's a gorgeous album,
but I hope you like piano.

hmm, i bought apollo last summer, and it sucked, to tell the
truth. Imo best albums of him are Another Green World,
Ambient I - Music for the Airports, Ambient 4 - On the land
or so, and Music for films is also shit genious :-)

I would recommend you all the "Biosphere" stuff, too,
especially "Substrata" of him! You will love it!

and of course aphex twin - selected ambient works 2

i think that Music for Airports is the most representative
from Brian Eno
and the best too
