Dunno if this is a repost, but here's the Sydney Morning
Herald's interview with AFX :D Synths, Druqs, and RocknRoll ... and I
didn't know about bleep.com 'til today :( WTF have I been.

This makes me feel way better about him: RDJ: "I have
enough cash now so I don't need to release music any more. I
never really wanted to release records; it was mates around
me saying, 'C'mon, you've got to release this!'"

"James left an MP3 player on a plane that held a
mind-boggling 282 new tracks.
"

Imagine finding that :D

copyrights in art?

"For a few years, I only made stuff on a laptop just
because I wanted to train myself. But now it's like being
released from a spell that I put on myself because I'm
getting back into more physical inputs and loads of analogue
synthesisers again.
"

I hope this means no more dull and hurried drukqs
type releases.

I think that's the best news I've heard this century!

I liked Drukqs a lot, but I think he's been missing
something since ICBYD - I'm really thinking his best work is
yet to come.

what good is that to us...if he doesnt intend to release it
:)

i too hope his best is yet to come.
he improves with every release (except smojphace) imo so we
can expect something really mindblowing next...hopefuly

apparently he released drukqs because of the lost mp3
player.

To paraphrase: "I'm rich and living off of royalties and I'm
now re-imbursing myself to use classic analog equipment
again while I run you all over with my tank!".... Do I smell
corruption by monetary disfunction.... I mean, he basically
admitted to being a yuppie sellout. Just kidding.

hehe, I don't believe that mp3 player thing for a second!

And I think he does enjoy releasing music - I think it's
probably a real need for him... Just he's very clever at
projecting a certain image/character - and he always has
been..

He always says things to get people talking - Which is great
- We do need personalities in electronic music.

He's having a laugh basically; a bit of phun in interviews -
I tend to think it's odd when interviewers try to dissect
the music; Music is beyond language, We don't have the
words, so we have the music...
