not bad or too extreme, just odd... feels like things are slipping out from under yr feet a little, and you have to remember everyone goes through that.

The past always seems short, and the future keeps getting shorter... even the present isn't as long as it sometimes seems. Soon you'll be dying and you'll think back over your life and realize how short it was and how much of it you had to waste working and sleeping. Then you'll die.

i definitely miss being younger, but at the same time, i feel like i'm enjoying my life now as much as i ever have... i love learning new things, and slowly (but surely) learning how to express myself creatively, not to mention meeting all kinds of really cool likeminded people... i feel like there's just so many beautiful things to be found in the world... and so long as i'm finding beauty on a daily basis, it outweighs the really fucked up things about life and the world...

i feel exactly the same.
i'd also say that if i had a chance to go back to my teenage years i'd never do it. too much frustration, too many fears and insecurities...
seems that life keeps getting better and better, like good red wine. indeed, there are so many things to learn and explore, both inside and outside of me.
the only bad thing is that the older you get the shorter the year :D

i felt like this when i was 16.
i think everybody feels like this.
growing up isn't at all what i expected. it's not bad really, just not what i expected.
it's wierd being able to identify with my parents, and even grandparents. like, how they're not as sure of everything as they seemed when i was 9.
my grandmother is in a nursing home cause she broke her leg. her mind is still sharp, but her body is going. she's 86. it's wierd to listen to her talk about growing up. she says she still pictures herself as an 20 year old woman. says that time just flew by, and it just goes by faster and faster.
pretty strange. people been going through this shit for 30 some thousand years.

(well, i get this feeling too, but you can still at least try to keep your mind young. even if you won't be able to go back to high school and all, that's still something. - and not being able to go back has its advantages too after all, there must be some bad times you won't re-live again... erm, well... at least you can hope you won't live them again ; ))

you'll be a lot better off when...
1) you understand that you *choose* to be sad, because you choose what to believe, and your feelings are derived from what you believe.
2) you learn to live your life according to positive principles, and then most importantly with no regrets and no guilt.
3) you know virtually nothing. although "absolutely nothing" may be closer to the truth. this is why you must cultivate faith in yourself and accept yourself and everyone else no matter what. maybe it's not widely recognized, but this process that we call life has been playing out in infinite variety in infinite contexts for an infinite expanse of time. put your faith in this process, because *you* are the reason this process exists. consider how much of the physical world you live in occurs outside of your awareness. ant colonies. water dripping down an evergreen after a soft rain. a dead sparrow being consumed by bacteria fungi and insects. that massive unseen world is only a tiny thread in an infinite expanse of fabric. you cannot ever understand it all, which is why you must put your faith in it. you put your faith in the sun rising every morning, but you never think about it. now, think about it!
4) there is nothing but this moment, right now. the past exists as much as the future, a set of interlinked probabilities and probable events. your capacity to transform your experience and yourself exists only in the present moment. learn to cultivate your awareness in the present and *stop dwelling on the past*.
now put down "hyperballad" and put on the album version of "all is full of love" at once!
