reaktor 4 problem...

i have my guitar plugged into the Line in 2/Mic 2 jack on
my audigy 2.... (its the same jack, it becoms mic when you
turn up the gain past a click, as i understand it)

so anywyas i have the right and left chanels of this input
selected as the audio input chanels 1 and 2, respectively

the problem is... when i choose this setting in Reaktor, the
audio in stops... i can no longer hear the guitar through my
computer speakers, and the "audio in" meter in reaktor is
dead

turns out Line In 2/Mic 2 is muted on in the creative
surround mixer

so i unmute it..... i can now hear hte guitar through my
speakers

now back to reaktor... and theres still no sound, audio in
meter still dead
i confirm the right settings in the audi+midi settings
window (they're still right)... as soon as i close the
settings window, with either ok OR cancel, it becomes muted
again!
wtf??
is creative trying to sabatoge me!?

any ideas?

oops to clarify: after unmuting it the creative mixer, when
i go back to reaktor i can still hear my guitar... but its
not regestering in reaktor (audio in meter still dead)....
then when i confirm the settings in reaktor it becomes muted
again, and of course continues not to regester in
reaktor..... its really frustrating........ why would it
automatically mute itself!??!

yeah i use it frequently, but rarely as an effect box and
never with a pc soundcard. your problem sounds like it's
related to limitations of your card. i know some soundcards
have trouble monitoring while recording. i don't know,
windows and pc's can be such a pain in the ass trying to
troubleshoot. i'll post if i think of anything. good luck.
